Many new owners purchase their animals but don’t have the facilities to
house them. Usually this is temporary until barns are built or refurbished
and fences are constructed. The search for the perfect farm can also
delay plans to take possession. Whatever your situation, we can help by
boarding your alpacas until their new home is ready. Are you a bit ten-
tative on birthing your first cria? We can offer to do this at our farm where
an experienced vet is on call to handle any problems. After the cria is
born we can also rebreed your female to one of our resident herdsires. If
you are like many who want to experience the birth at your own farm,
bring mom and baby back for rebreeding. Either way, we can help you
through the process!

   Consulting & Consignment

When you purchase from Blizzard Peak Alpacas, the service doesn’t end after
you sign the contracts. Let our years of experience with raising alpacas help
you get started in the right direction. Do you need help with barn and pasture
layout? How about suggestions for feed and nutrition? We will share our
knowledge and ideas with you. Feel free to call anytime with questions. If there
is an emergency, please call your vet first! Follow up by calling us to share
your experience.
Some people have a concern about selling their own animals when it comes time.
If you are unable to invest the time marketing your farm, maybe we could help
by consigning an alpaca for you. We want you to be successful, just as we
have been!

   Shearing & Sorting

We do all the shearing because we want our animals to look their best!
We also know how hard it can be for new breeders to line up a good
shearer. This is why we are very happy to offer this service to our
clients. There are many different shearing styles and we have experi-
mented with them all. You pick the style and we will do the hair cut.
The fiber will then need sorted before processing and it is best to do
this while shearing. If you don't know how, we will help.
